Review: The Watcher by Lisa Voisin

4.5 Stars

Millennia ago, he fell from heaven for her. Can he face her without falling again?

Fascinated with ancient civilizations, seventeen-year-old Mia Crawford dreams of becoming an archaeologist. She also dreams of wings—soft and silent like snow—and somebody trying to steal them.

When a horrible creature appears out of thin air and attacks her, she knows Michael Fontaine is involved, though he claims to know nothing about it. Secretive and aloof, Michael evokes feelings in Mia that she doesn’t understand. Images of another time and place haunt her. She recognizes them—but not from any textbook.

In search of the truth, Mia discovers a past life of forbidden love, jealousy and revenge that tore an angel from Heaven and sent her to an early grave. Now that her soul has returned, does she have a chance at loving that angel again? Or will an age-old nemesis destroy them both?

Ancient history is only the beginning

My thoughts;  I am in love. As a huge fan of  Paranormal YA this was everything that I love. Forbidden love, good vs evil and so much more. For anyone who loved Twilight and The Mortal Instruments this just might be a perfect book for you.

Michael and Mia have a bond that runs as deep as their soul. But how do you love someone when it is forbidden. What do you do when loving someone could cost you everything?

I am finding it hard to write this review and stick to my NO SPOILER policy. I like for readers to experience every moment in a book as they are reading it.

When Mia first sees Michael she is drawn to him, and he just seems to be everywhere. She can't escape him. Michael is constantly pushing her away only to pull her right back in again. Enter bad boy extraordinaire, Damiel. Nothing like competition to get a guys attention, right? Well there just may be more to Damiel than meets the eye. Mia isn't interested in Damiel but at the same time she just can't seem to resist. Friendship are made, hearts are broken, demons are slain.

If you are a fan of paranormal YA you will not be disappointed.
