A Beautiful Lie by T.E. Sivec Blog Tour and Review

A Beautiful Lie is making a blog stop here today. I am honored to have had the opportunity to receive an ARC of this book for review. T.E. Sivec is a pen name for one of my new favorite authors Tara Sivec. You all should know her by now from reading the Chocolate Lover's Series (Seduction and Snacks, Future and Frosting and Troubles and Treats). A Beautiful Lie is a new adventure into the world of romantic suspense for Tara.

Review; A Beautiful Lie (Playing with Fire, #1)

5 Stars

He saw her first, but his friend made the move.

She settled for the safer choice, but her heart knew the truth.

They love, they crave, they lie.

Garrett McCarthy, Annabelle Parker, and Milo Roberts were as close as friends could get. They shared in each other's joy during graduations, promotions, and engagements. They consoled one another through heartache and loss.

When one of the friend's life is tragically cut short, it's up to the two left behind to pick up the pieces and find out the truth - no matter the cost. As they slowly start to uncover the nature of his deception, and the very powerful people behind it, they begin to question everyone and everything, even themselves.

Everyone has secrets - some do it for love while others do it for power. Those secrets can change perceptions, alter reality and sometimes destroy lives.

What do you do when you find out your whole life has been a lie?

My Thoughts; Wow, what can I say? I fell head over heels for Tara Sivec when I read her Chocolate Lover's series so reading this book was a no brainier  Was I nervous? Yes, tbh I was terrified. This book is a complete turn around from what I KNOW Tara can write. The real question I should have asked was, "Are you seriously doubting the mad skills this woman possesses?" What was I thinking? I loved this book from start to finish. It has so many ups and down and surprises that I was like whuuuuuuuut the freck just happened here?

I feel I must take a moment to pay homage to all that is Garrett McCarthy. This is one man that it took me like 2 pages to fall in love with. He is the total - overbearing, over protective, hot headed, stubborn, swoon worthy - package. To say he had my heart doing little pitter-pats on several occasions may be an understatement.

"I want you to admit that I am the only one who can make you feel like this." Garrett said through clenched teeth.....

*THUD*

Parker is Garrett's equal in every way  She is a total bad-ass and the exact kind of leading lady that I love in a story, she takes crap from NO ONE! She is strong and independent and tough to the 'enth degree but she is also kind and vulnerable and afraid to express her feelings for fear of being hurt.

"Here's a lesson for you, asshole. Don't f*ck with me," Parker said into the quiet room.

After reading this book I think it is pretty safe to say, "Tara Sivec by any other name is still AWESOME." This woman is proving that she can write any darn thing she wants. I look forward to seeing more in the future.
