On Dublin Street by Samantha Young

5 Stars

Four years ago, Jocelyn Butler left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Edinburgh. Burying the grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without any real attachments has worked well for her so far but when Joss moves into a fantastic apartment on Dublin Street, her carefully guarded world is shaken to its core by her new roommate’s sexy older brother.

Braden Carmichael is a man who always gets what he wants. And what he wants is Jocelyn in his bed. Knowing how skittish Joss is concerning any kind of relationship, Braden proposes a sexual arrangement that should satisfy the intense attraction between them without it developing into anything ‘more’. An intrigued Jocelyn agrees, completely unprepared for the Scotsman and his single-minded determination to strip the stubborn young woman bare…to the very soul.

My thoughts before reading: I have heard really great things about this book. I am trying to comeback from a back reading experience so I pray this does not let me down.....

****

My after thoughts; I was huge ball of emotion while reading this book. It grabbed hold of me from page one and did not let go. I found myself crying for what might happen. Suddenly afraid to turn the page for fear that what is about to happen would tear my heart out.
The love story is magnificent. What Braden and Joss have is epic. It takes time for them to get there but the journey is the greatest part.
I am on a book high today and I am sure it will quickly be followed by a book hangover this afternoon. I am adding this to my must read list. I don't really have an actually list but if anyone asks, "So, what do you recommend?", this will definitely be at the top.

Happy Reading!! :-)

Thoughts before reading; I am going to be 100% honest. This book was a side ad on facebook one day. I saw the pic and thought, "Hmmmm, who is this wavy haired hotty with his hair blowing in the breeze?" I read the description and thought I would give it a try.........

****

My after thoughts; Ok I don't like doing bad reviews so I am gonna make this as quick and painless as possible.

I tried. I really did, but I could not get through this book. The inability to get into the story was the main problem. I feel like some major editing and it could have improved by miles. The use of quotation marks, or rather the lack thereof, had me so confused sometimes as to whether the character was thinking to himself or actually speaking aloud. Sentences were short and choppy, had they been combined it would have made it flow so much better. And lastly, I feel that it was way over priced for and ebook. I have purchased books but more well known authors who have topped the chart in sales for lots less......

(Chocolate Lover 2)

Carter, Claire and Gavin have formed the perfect little family. Their friends are getting married and everyone is growing up, maturing and ready to face the future. Or are they?

Will their friends make a mess of things with their inappropriate comments and need to know everything, or will they convince the couple that happily-ever-after sometimes really can start with beer pong?

My thoughts before reading; So I had this all set up as my Waiting On.... post for Wednesday. BUT, surprise!!! Early ebook release day, Yippee!!! I am so excited (/-,-)/ woo hoo

My after thoughts; I am pretty sure that for the rest of my life this will be one of the series I will recommend to every single person I know.

For the past several months, since reading Seduction and Snacks, I have been looking for a book that would leave me with the same "bookish afterglow". And well apparently it just wasn't possible. I needed Claire's internal rambling. Carter's word vomit. Drew's, well, Drew-ness. Liz's kick azz friendship. Gavin's ability to make me smile. (He totally makes me feel better about teaching my nieces and nephew to call people questionably appropriate names.) I have, at this moment in time, already used the term JUICE BAG twice (well now that makes 3).

I smiled, I laughed, I snorted, I cried sappy tears. I said the words, Oh no she DIDNT aloud only to turn the page and have them repeated back to me, which then had me once again laughing. And now I will completely embarrass myself and say that I may have teared up just a smidge when I read the words, The End.  Tara Sivec, you are awesome girl!! I hope to read many more things by you in the future

PS; If you have not read Seduction and Snacks, please do! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Happy Reading!! :-)

The Redhead Revealed by Alice Clayton

5 Stars

(Readhead series book 2)

As their careers catch fire, Grace and Jack -- everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed, funny, and feisty couple -- find themselves on opposite coasts. Grace has landed in New York City, where she loves being onstage again, particularly because she’s playing a fabulous character in a musical written by her old college flame, Michael. Their rekindled friendship makes exploring the city that much more fun.

Wait, it’s just friendship, right?

Meanwhile, in L.A., Jack can scarcely keep up with the swirling throngs of women who track him everywhere he goes, the endless press appearances, and the ridiculous rules his manager, Holly, keeps concocting for him -- all part of the buildup to the release of Time, his steamy new film.

Thank goodness for phone sex.

But even when their schedules allow them to connect, Grace and Jack must keep their relationship off the radar and away from paparazzi cameras. Sure, the sex is sensational, but can this duo survive swirling rumors, the demands of their chosen professions, Grace’s raging internal battles, and a whopping nine-year age difference?

Tick-tock, the clock is ticking. Isn’t it?

She promptly finds a job at a tattoo parlor, a craptastic first apartment, and one friend—Ryan—who is a little less friend, a little more benefits.

Deo Beckett is a soulful surfer with a passion for tattoos and beautiful women. When Deo meets Whit, she’s all sexy makeup and fierce, smart-ass fun. It doesn’t take him long to see past her tough shell. Too bad Whit has a past she doesn't plan on sharing—no matter how hot Deo is. She might want him, but she knows better than to let her guard down.

Deo falls for Whit, and falls hard. But everything about her, down to that mysterious tattoo and the way she thrashes in her sleep, tells him that the girl he loves is hiding something. And the more he pushes for answers, the more Whit pulls away.

Having your guard up is one thing, but are the lengths Whit goes to to protect her secret worth throwing away the second chance she has at happiness with Deo?

My thoughts before reading; This book has been recommended to me by several different people and I have heard it is a very light and funny read. Since I am currently working on "Operation Find a Book that will make me laugh like Seduction in Snacks that can hold me over until Futures and Frosting is released in October" I figure I would give it a shot and see if it does the trick. So maybe the name of my covert operation is a little long but well...... So what!?! *winkies*

Friends with Partial Benefits by Luke Young

3.5 Stars

My thoughts before reading; Tara Sivec, author of Seduction and snacks, had this book as recommendation on her facebook page. Since I almost PMSL reading S&S I thought, "This has to be good!" And being that I am kinda in mourning for another series I am thinking a light and funny read might just be the perfect medicine for my broken heart.........

****
9/4/12
My after thoughts; I will start out by saying this was a really fun read. The characters were very easy to love and I enjoyed every single minute of this book. However, I went into it expecting a laugh out loud experience and I did not get it. It is a light and entertaining read with lots of sexy times. But the comedy aspect wasn't really there for me.
And now we shall take a little trip into my brain and you will learn why I named my blog "Lost-In-Thought". Because there are two trains of thought going on up there at the moment and I am starting to develop a slight headache..........

As I am sitting and typing this review I can't help my thoughts from wandering to the following statement made on Amazon.com......
Please note that this is a less explicit version of another currently available novel. For more information please see the author page.
 So, I went in search of the more explicit book and found the following;
Young also writes "spicier" books under the pen name Ian Dalton. If you like your sexy comedy heavy on the sexy, be sure to check out Dalton's Victoria Wilde series. For more information on how Ian Dalton's Victoria Wilde series relates to the Friends With...Benefits series please see the "Who Is Ian Dalton" area of his website. http://lukeyoungbooks.com/who-is-ian-dalton/

This book was also released in 2011, several months after to the original FWPB. So I can't help but be curious as to whether or not the only difference is the amount of sexual content. I am now on a mission to find someone who has read both versions. And I am also torn as to whether to continue this series as written by Young or Dalton. I guess it all comes down to how much raunch I am in the mood for. And being that I post EVERYTHING I read right here for you guys to see, I guess you all will also know what type of mood I was in. *blushes*

Happy Reading!! :-)
